Zuckerberg Says Jiomart on Whatsapp Represents a Significant Possibility for the Premium Messaging Business

JioMart on WhatsApp, according to Meta Inc. CEO Mark Zuckerberg, will present a significant opportunity for the business. Described by Zuckerberg as the company’s first end-to-end buying experience, it demonstrated the possibilities for messaging-based chat-based commerce.

In August, Jio Platforms and Meta enabled consumers to use WhatsApp chat to make purchases through the e-commerce site JioMart. This made it possible for customers to order groceries from JioMart via chat.

According to Zuckerberg, the company is also beginning to employ sponsored messaging during its Q3 earnings call.

Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg said JioMart is their first end-to-end purchasing experience demonstrating the potential of chat-based commerce over messaging in an investor interview.

Accordingly, he believes the combination of paid messaging and click-to-messaging will be a significant opportunity.
