Star Indian batter Virat Kohli made history by finishing both of his ICC T20 World Cup campaigns as the competition’s best run-scorer.
In Group 2 match between India and Bangladesh in Adelaide, Virat Kohli‘s return among the runs at the current T20 World Cup in Australia earned him another world record, making him the most prolific scorer in T20 World Cup history.
Most Runs in T20 World Cup
To reach his undefeated half-century, Virat passed Mahela Jayawardene, the previous captain of Sri Lanka, who had 1016 runs in ICC T20 World Cups, when he scored his 16th run. This was Kohli’s third fifty-plus in his 23rd T20 World Cup innings. Jayawardene reached the milestone of 1016 runs in 31 innings. There are 13 T20 World Cup half-centuries in Kohli’s resume.
